Junction 2 Artist News - December

JUNCTION 2 FRIDAY
A strong uptake across the two days recently has been cemented by our second artist drop last week. Joy Orbison, Nina Kraviz, Octo Octa, Roza Terenzi, Saoirse, Skee Mask, Tasha, Tasker and Zenker Brothers have been added to the Friday, along with Fatima Yamaha joining Jon Hopkins as the 2nd live act of the day.
With the Friday also featuring the likes of Four Tet, Hessle Audio, Honey Dijon and our weekend resident Avalon Emerson, here we look at some of the recent news featuring acts coming to Boston Manor Park on 5th June…
AVALON EMERSON REMIXES FOUR TET
Two J2 artists appear on the same track here, as Avalon Emerson remixes Four Tet. Emphasising Four Tet’s non-formulaic composition, fresh life is breathed into the already stunning ‘Teenage Birdsong’. The remix also features an adlib vocal, that some observers have suggested is Emerson herself. Either way, the new version has succeeded in doing what every great remix should: remaining faithful to the original, whilst presenting it from a new perspective
HESSLE AUDIO LIVE IN DENVER
Earlier this summer, Ben UFO delivered one of the most memorable sets in J2 history. We’re stoked to have him back in 2020 alongside his Hessle Audio counterparts, Pearson Sound and Pangaea for their first London festival performance since 2013. For an idea of what to expect check-out their recent recording from Denver, Colorado as featured on Ben’s radio show.
ROZA TERENZI RELEASES NEW MIX
Continuing our philosophy of showcasing the very best in emerging talent alongside industry heavyweights, we are delighted to welcome Roza Terenzi. As one of Melbourne’s exciting new house talents, Roza is now set to travel to London to continue her cosmic journey. Get to know her a little better, by listening to her recent contribution to Phonica’s podcast series.
JUNCTION 2 SATURDAY
On the Saturday not only do we welcome back festival favourites Adam Beyer, Dixon and Maceo Plex, but we’ve strengthened the lineup with the inclusion of some of the most exciting names operating within the scene.
Anastasia Kristensen, Dr. Rubinstein and Margaret Dygas are artists we’ve admired for a long time. After wanting to book them for earlier editions, the stars have finally aligned. Kobosil and Roi Perez’s legacies were made in Berghain and Panorama Bar respectfully, both Berlin institutions. As for Marcel Dettmann, having started out there, his name is now global. Collectively they form the backbone of the most anticipated Junction 2 yet.
MACEO PLEX & ANNA RELEASE EPs ON DRUMCODE
Since year one of Junction 2, Adam Beyer’s all-conquering techno brand has hosted Boston Manor Park’s most strikingly impressive feature; The Bridge. It gives us great pleasure that two J2 artists joining us in June are the most recent to grace the label. ANNA’s ‘Galactic Highways’ and Maceo Plex’s ‘Destination Mars’ (in collaboration with Josh Wink) are a pair of interstellar weapons that are going to sound out of this world under the M4 motorway.
ADAM BEYER REMIXES UNDERWORLD
Ever since ‘Your Mind’ became Drumcode’s biggest ever release, Beyer has struck up a prolific partnership with J2 2019 artist, Bart Skils. Now they’ve turned their hand to reimagine born again rave icons Underworld and their hook-up with Ø [Phase] - himself a J2 alumni (2017). The result is an atmospheric, full throttle banger, as you might expect.
FABRIC RELEASE FRANCESCO DEL GARDA MIX
J2 was proud to work with fabric last summer, as they hosted The Bridge as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations. Throughout their history, fabric has excelled in having a sharp eye for nurturing and developing talent. Part of the exposure they offer is via their acclaimed promo mix series. Last month, they showcased crate-digger Francesco Del Garda who makes his debut at Junction 2 on Saturday 6th June. Check it out.
