Adiel

For this rising Italian DJ and Junction 2 debutant, techno isn’t a robotic assault on the senses but a naturalistic expression of feeling and colour. Her music may have the power and tempo of many harder-edged DJs, but Adiel doesn’t play beats and basslines just to make a crowd grit its teeth; she’d rather make it sway and groove into the night.

Adiel’s built her reputation while serving as one of the residents at Rome’s famously beautiful and decadent Goa Club, a place where style and lithe movements are as important as the pure escapism of the hard beat. In character with the place she plays most frequently then, her DJ sets are full of the mystery and darkness conjured up when tribal drums and long, cycling passages of choppy filters create moments of hedonistic hypnosis.
