Ahead of his exclusive Junction 2 performance this summer under his SCB alter-ego, Scuba will be releasing the debut album from his alias this spring. Titled ‘Caibu’, the 12-track LP arrives in April and is described as a “fictional narrative in which a hypothetical timeline is corrupted by a climate-related disaster.”
Promising “cerebral techno, darkened disco and broken beats”, the album features material from last year’s ‘Below The Line’ and ‘Old Media New Society’ EPs, and before it drops a new EP called ‘Engineered Morality’ is coming out in March. ‘Caibu’ references an invented surgical procedure that enables the transfer of cognitive ability through brain transplants. Illustrator Jonathan Lawrence created the artwork for the album along with its three related EPs.
